Overview

This striking Kutani ware sake set was produced by the Seihaku Kiln in the Kaga district of Ishikawa Prefecture during the late Showa to Heisei period (approximately 1970s to 2000s). Featuring two tokkuri sake flasks and five guinomi drinking cups, the set is unified by a bold tri-color horizontal band design in red, warm yellow-orange, and gosu gray-blue, a composition that bridges Kutani's classical enamel heritage with the expressive folk-art spirit of modern Japanese studio ceramics. The set comes housed in a fitted wooden box with a calligraphic lid inscription and maker's signature, consistent with the tomobako presentation tradition.
