This particular panel portrays the warrior Mizoo Shōbei, performed by the Kabuki actor Ichikawa Sadanji.

Morikawa Chikashige was a Meiji-period ukiyo-e artist and a pupil of Toyohara Kunichika.
He became especially known for powerful Kabuki actor portraits and theatrical scenes, capturing dramatic expressions, elaborate costumes and the intensity of the Japanese stage.
Condition
This is an authentic antique ukiyo-e from the Meiji period.
Age-related toning, wear, creases, stains, small marks, edge wear and other signs of age may be present.
