Inspired by the iconic shape of a traditional isshobin sake bottle, this unique lamp is handcrafted in Japan by skilled chochin lantern artisans, using traditional techniques and Japanese washi paper.
Each piece is carefully formed by hand, transforming a familiar symbol of Japanese drinking culture into a contemporary object of light.
When illuminated, the washi softly diffuses the light, creating a warm, gentle glow inspired by the flickering atmosphere of a traditional Japanese warosoku candle.
Even when switched off, its pure white silhouette works beautifully as a sculptural object. When lit, it brings to mind the quiet atmosphere of old Japanese houses, sake breweries, and intimate izakaya.
