Artist

Utagawa Kuniteru II (1830–1874) was an ukiyo-e artist of the Utagawa school and a pupil of Utagawa Kunisada, also known as Toyokuni III. He initially worked under the name Kunitsuna II before succeeding to the name Kuniteru II in 1865. He produced bijin-ga, landscapes and images reflecting the rapidly changing visual culture of late Edo and early Meiji Japan.
